KUALA LUMPUR: Infineon Technologies will be supplying the security chips for Malaysia’s new electronic national identity cards. The new generation MyKads will feature Infineon’s SLE 78 security controller with “Integrity Guard” security technology, combined with Solid Flash for fast deployment capability. Integrity Guard security technology comprises a dual CPU-core for sophisticated error detection and encryption of data along the entire data path during processing. Malaysia issues about two million new identity cards each year with biometric identification feature.
